Amazon has released a new 6.6 version of its Kindle app with several new features, that is available to all iPhone and iPad users who read Amazon books on their iOS devices.
The updated version of Amazon’s Kindle app comes with a new mobile-friendly format which is designed for magazines. And this new feature is included shortly after the rumors that the company may debut a subscription news service for magazines.
Recently, Apple also acquired Texture, which is a service providing unlimited access to above 200 digital magazines for a price of $9.99 a month.
Amazon states that the new format for magazines it provided is available in the beginning for popular magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Food Network, Us Weekly, Life & Style and 15 other titles.
The new update also permits its users Prime Reading and there are Kindle Unlimited books which can be returned using Kindle for iOS app. If you want to return any book, long press on the book cover from bookshelf and select the option “Return book.”
Kindle Unlimited is a subscription-based service in which you need to pay around $9.99 on a monthly basis, with which you can access more than million audio books, magazines and various genres of novels. Prime Reading is a service that offers a smaller selection of content for free to only its Prime subscribers.
With the newer options which are available in the new magazine format and Kindle Unlimited, the new update of Kindle app also has a setting to allow you enable the highlight menu which is displayed every time whenever text is highlighted.
