Comcast Has Added Tile Tracking to Its X1 Platform

Did you forget where you left your keys? Don’t worry, if you are a consumer of Comcast Xfinity X1 and own a Tile device, you will soon get the ability to use the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote to give the exact location of any missing item on your television. This has been recently announced by Comcast in their blog post about the partnership with Tile to bring new capabilities into its X1 platform.

Tile is the famous Bluetooth tracker, which can be affixed to almost every object that you want to track. You can ring that object also and see its last known location. The items that are commonly tracked are backpacks, car keys, purses, and phones.

The new compatibility of Xfinity and Tile will allow you find your keys at your fingertips and you can just say “Xfinity Home, where are my keys?” into the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote to know the location of your keys. You will be able to view the address and location of the missing Tiled object on your TV.

According to Comcast, it is a new type of voice-control and video partnership with Tile and a part of Xfinity’s objective to integrate more home automation features into Comcast’s X1 platform. However, it’s not the first smart-home incorporation for Tile. The tracker is compatible with both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

After the launch, only Comcast Xfinity Home consumers, who have the Xfinity X1 Voice Remote could utilize the integration of new Tile capabilities. By following the prompts in the Xfinity Home app for iOS or Android devices, you can also customize or add your Tiles. Both Tile and Comcast are planning to extend the eligibility to all Xfinity Internet customers this year later.
